Indie-pop singer/songwriter Alex James Ellison’s debut EP Duvet Days features five original songs of unashamedly fun and catchy indie-pop, penned by Alex and writing partner Joe Sterling, and produced by Joe Davison of Auburn Jam Records. Originally from Brighton, Alex won Brighton’s ‘Who Has Talent’ competition in 2010, which culminated in a show at the Theatre Royal and live performance on BBC Radio Sussex. He attended the prestigious BRIT School, famous for its world-class alumni of artists such as Adele, Jessie J, and Alex’s classmates Rizzle Kicks. Alex followed on to train at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, and after graduating he reached the finals of the Open Mic UK 2012 competition.
Lucie Jones, who reached the final eight of X-Factor 2009, has thrown her support behind Alex’s debut release:
“Alex has written some dangerously catchy tunes for his debut EP. The lyrics are ones I want to learn and the clever intricacies of his musical mind are splashed all over these great pop tunes. I can’t wait to hear more!” – Lucie Jones
Street-dance and music duo Twist & Pulse, runners-up on Britain’s Got Talent, are also fans of Alex’s music:
“Alex is a brilliant songwriter with honest lyrics that anyone can relate to. His music is easy to listen to and instantly catchy. Great vibe, fun, happy, I love it!” – Ashley ‘Twist’ Glazebrook
